Now that we are officially in the middle of the holiday season, it is time to enjoy all of your holiday traditions! At Ardenwoods, you can continue to host your family with a number of different amenities and services. Below are three ways you can continue to enjoy your time-honored traditions while living at Ardenwoods!
It’s no surprise that the seniors at Ardenwoods Retirement Community enjoy staying connected by way of ever-changing technology. Most residents have smart phones and enjoy using them for texting as well as photography. A few will even admit that they play games on occasion.
We sat down with a group who wanted to take more pictures with their phones. They were proficient in the general use of the camera app but a few wanted to get a refresher. They take lots of beautiful photos and we hope they’ll even sign up for Instagram. In the meantime, though, we decided to put together a very simple guide for senior who would like to take photos with their smart phones.
On the way to workout room? Be sure to take some time to visit the beautiful photographs taken by Lillian Meiggs. She likes to use her ipad to get very close to the beautiful flora in our area. That’s why she titled her exhibit Up Close and Personal. The “up close” is clear, but the “personal” is the direct way this lady approaches her craft. And this craft is not limited to photography.

We’re always busy around here, but Active Aging Week was extra full of fun group activities. This year’s theme was Inspiring Wellness. Now, that’s a theme we can all get on board with. This is more about the week from the Active Aging Week website:
Active Aging Week takes place each year during the last week of September. The weeklong campaign calls attention to and wholeheartedly celebrates the positivity of aging today. It showcases the capabilities of older adults as fully participating members of society and spotlights the role models that lead the way.
September is a big month for us, with two special weeks: National Assisted Living Week and Active Aging Week. This year we celebrated in excellent style. We did have to deal with the threat of a hurricane, but we weathered through!
