The Walk to End Alzheimer’s took place on Saturday, September 21 in Pack Square, downtown Asheville. The Walk is one of our favorite events each year. Residents and staff make up Team Ardenwoods. When we gather together at the walk, it’s really our whole Ardenwoods community coming together. It’s a wonderful time to remember loved ones, encourage those who are caring for loved ones, and support those who have lost loved ones.
Meet Teagan Pekarek
We would like to welcome and introduce you to our new Receptionist Coordinator.
Teagan Pekarek comes to us from Florida where she worked in a larger Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). Teagan’s husband had a job transfer that brought them to Asheville. She loves horses, owned a horse, and hopes to again. She has a 4-year old son, Roman Micah. Next time you are in, stop by and meet Teagan.
We recently said good-bye to Phyllis, who moved on to assume a new position. We wish her well in her new endeavor with a local non-profit organization.
A New Face at the Desk
You might see a new face when you walk into Heather Glen to visit.
Phyllis joins our staff at Heather Glen as a full-time receptionist coordinator. She is from Watertown, NY. After leaving New York approximately 20 years ago, she lived in Florida, Concord, NC and relocated to Asheville 3 ½ years ago. Phyllis has been married for 20 years and has 3 children. She’s been a vegetarian her entire adult life and recently became vegan.
Do you know all that goes into being the Receptionist Coordinator? Phyllis’ job at Heather Glen involves much more than answering the phones.
