“Do not grow old, no matter how long you live. Never cease to stand like curious children before the Great Mystery into which we were born.” — Albert Einstein
Happy Birthday to Bob Jenkins, our oldest resident! Bob, who lives at Heather Glen, turned 108 on July 30. Born in 1912 on a farm in Iowa, Bob grew up in Boone County, Iowa, and is a proud 1934 graduate of Iowa State with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He had a career in manufacturing and marketing, which took him throughout the northeast and Midwest and finally to Florida, where he retired. He and his wife, Helen, raised a son and a daughter together and traveled extensively after he retired.
